Burton Albion V Fleetwood Town | Betting Tips, Predictions & Picks | Brewers Picks

News April 26, 2021

Burton Albion welcome Fleetwood Town to the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow night, as they go head to head in League One.

Tom Pearce, Brewers Picks Predictor (@tompearce97)

This will be the 15th meeting between the two sides, with the first coming in 2012, in which Fleetwood came out 1-0 winners.

The Brewers have a pretty poor record against The Cod Army, winning just one of their last five games against them.

That includes the reverse fixture, where Fleetwood came out on top with a 2-1 win back on the opening day.

How will tomorrow’s game play out, though?

Burton Albion Form

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side confirmed their safety at the weekend as they drew 1-1 away to Wigan at the weekend.

They have failed to win in their past three but won in each of the three games prior, picking up 11 points from a possible 18. They now find themselves in seventh place in the form table.

The Brewers haven’t been great at home recently, though. In fact, they have won just one of their last five at the Pirelli.

Fleetwood Town Form

A Barrie McKay strike in the 51st minute was enough for Fleetwood to take all three points against Doncaster at the weekend.

They’ve been inconsistent recently, though, having won three and lost three in their last six matches. That means they currently sit in 11th place in the form table.

Similarly, they have struggled for consistency in their recent away games, with two wins, one draw and one loss from their last four.

Our Picks For Brewers Picks – Burton Albion V Fleetwood Town

In Focus

1. Will Burton Albion beat Fleetwood Town? No

With the confirmation of Burton’s safety at the weekend, this is a bit of a dead rubber game, so it really could go either way.

The thing is, Fleetwood have been slightly better on the road recently than the Brewers have been at home.

2. Will Joe Powell assist a goal? No

The versatile midfield man failed to set up a teammate for a goal at the weekend, however, he did score himself.

He has 10 assists to his name from 36 appearances so far this season, with all but one coming in the league.

The reverse fixture from earlier this season was the only time he had come up against Fleetwood but he did manage to register an assist.

3. Will Burton Albion score in the first half? No

Powell opened the scoring in the 16th minute at the weekend, however, Burton are unlikely to score in the opening 45 tomorrow.

The thing is, Hasselbaink’s side have managed to score in the first half in just 29% of their home games this campaign.

As well as that, Fleetwood have conceded just eight goals from 21, which is an average of 0.38 goals against per first period on the road.

4. How many shots on target will Burton Albion have? 4+

The Brewers managed 10 shots against Wigan, testing Jamie Jones with five of them.

They have now hit the target 149 times this campaign, which is an average of 3.47 shots on target per game.

Alex Cairns has been the man between the sticks for Fleetwood most of the time this season, with Jayson Leutwiler and Joe Hilton playing 18 times between them.

Between the three of them, they have faced 135 attempts on their goal. That’s an average of 3.13 shots on target against per game.

5. Will Kane Hemmings score? No

The forward has 13 goals to his name so far this campaign, with all 13 of them coming in the league.

It’s been a while since has found the net, though, with his last goal coming as his third of the afternoon in the 3-0 win over Crewe.

He doesn’t have the best record against Fleetwood either, as he has failed to score against them in five appearances against them.

6. How many corners will Burton Albion be awarded? 4+

Burton managed to win four corners against Wigan, meaning they have now won 196 of them this season. That’s an average of 4.55 awarded per game.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see them win four or more corners, though, as they have done so in eight of their last 10 games.

As well as that, Hasselbaink’s side won eight corners in the reverse fixture back in September.

  • How many tackles will John Brayford make? 1
  • How many saves will Burton Albion goalkeepers make? 3
  • How many shots on target will Lucas Akins have? 0
  • How many goals will Burton Albion score? 1
  • How many goals will Burton Albion concede? 1
